Customer momentum enables further network expansion
BOULDER, Colo. –
Driven by customer demand, Zayo Group Holdings (NYSE: ZAYO) has
significantly expanded its infrastructure in the Texas Triangle, the
megaregion that includes Houston, San Antonio, Austin and Dallas/Ft.
Worth, over the past two years. Zayo has almost tripled its network
footprint in Texas and increased its customer base by 33 percent to more
than 450 customers.
The expansion has largely been driven by several major customer
contracts, including fiber-to-the-tower (FTT) builds in San Antonio and
Austin for a wireless
provider, dark fiber for the
state’s fifth largest city and dark fiber for a regional
school district.
Zayo has recently signed an additional customer contract that will
further expand the company’s extensive fiber network in San Antonio by
approximately 25 miles. The build will enable diverse, high-fiber count
access to Texas Research Park and the Westover Hills areas. The project
leverages in-place network from the 2016 FTT buildout and complements
fully diverse routes between Austin and San Antonio.
The Texas Triangle represents approximately 75 percent of the Texas
economy and is a growing center for technology, energy, finance,
transportation and enterprise. It is home to more than 50 Fortune 500
companies.
“The density of our network provides a significant advantage for our
public and private sector customers in Texas,” said Jack Waters, CTO and
president of Fiber Solutions at Zayo. “Our continued expansion
underscores our commitment to the state and provides opportunity for
additional customers who can benefit from our fiber network, data center
footprint and extensive connectivity across our global network.”
